REBORN is a redefinition of tailoring. Inspired by the Coventry Cathedral, a Gothic structure destroyed during World War II. In the reconstruction plan, the new church coexists with the ruined tower, forming a city square where the dialogue between old and new symbolizes resistance to war and hope for the future.
This suit combines traditional bespoke techniques with industrial production. The left half features a hand-padded full canvas suit made from Italian wool, while the right half features a rolled-collar jacket made from duchesse satin, with utility pockets.
The bottom is designed as a pleated skirt-pants, inspired by The Rational Dress Society of the 1880s, advocating for women's freedom in clothing, particularly for cycling, diverging from traditional bodices and long skirts.
The prints, blend the sculptures and textures of the church's ruined shell with an illustration from Colin Thompson's children's book “The Tower To The Sun”.
